Welcome to Calvary! We are a Bible-based fellowship with a mission to be engaged in the worship and work of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Vision:
The aim and purpose of this church is to worship, pray, learn, love, serve and share the good news.
We Believe:
the Bible is the inspired Word of God, true in its entirety;
in God the Father, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit -3 in 1;
all people are sinners deserving of condemnation;
all people can be redeemed through faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior;
the church is the living spiritual body of which Christ is head and all believers are members;
believers are meant to regularly gather for worship, instruction, work and fellowship;
every Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of his fellow man;
all believers have been commissioned to share the Gospel with a lost world;
in Baptism as an outward expression of inward faith in Christ;
every human is responsible to God alone in all matters of faith;
in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth;
in the resurrection of the body, the final judgement, the eternal bliss of the righteous and the endless suffering of the wicked.
History:
Calvary began in 1985 when a Bible Study group of 13 people decided to become an official church. Initial meetings were held on the second floor of the Red Owl Grocery Store (the building now occupied by Rural Solutions) followed by the basement of what is now Old National Bank. In 1986 Calvary purchased Snortum’s Nursery on North Highway 75 - our current location. Two major additions were built in 1994 and 2003.
Calvary is associated with Converge (formerly the Baptist General Conference).
